Do you install carpeting?

We do not install carpeting. We would recommend using Rockford’s Patchin Carpet Repair Xperts. With over 3o years of experience, they are the best choice for carpet repair and installation.

How often should I get my carpets cleaned?

If you have kids and/or pets, 2-3 times per year. If you are empty nesters, 1 time per year.

How often should I vacuum?

Because 70% of soil in carpet is dry soil, routine vacuuming can extend the life of carpet. Ideally, we recommend vacuuming every other day to at least twice a week. If you have kids or pets, daily vacuuming may be necessary.

Should I vacuum prior to having my carpet cleaned?

While it is recommended, it is not required to vacuum before having your carpet cleaned. Our truck-mounted system utilizes vacuum technology to clean your carpet, so it’s sucking out all the dirt for you. Click here to read more about our hot-water extraction method.

Why do heavily trafficked areas still look dirty after they’ve been cleaned?

When carpet is new, it’s bright, vibrant, and full of life. As it’s walked on over time, carpet can become dull because the fibers become scratched and worn. This can make carpet appear dull or dirty even after it’s cleaned. This is especially true of heavily trafficked areas. We recommend removing your shoes inside, not only because shoes bring in dirt, but also because shoes scratch and dull carpet.

Why do my carpets seem to get dirty faster after they’ve been cleaned?

This usually means your carpet was not cleaned properly. If your carpets soil faster after they’ve been cleaned, it usually means the technician didn’t rinse the carpet thoroughly enough. Our hot-water extraction method of cleaning uses a powerful truck-mounted system that cleans, rinses, and sucks the dirt, buildup, and residue out of your carpet. I’ve had my carpets cleaned, but some spots have come back. What should I do?

Sometimes stains that are deep set in the carpet backing can wick up to the surface after a cleaning. If you notice this, please contact us right away.

How long will it take my carpet to dry?

Our hot-water extraction cleaning technique removes up to 95% of moisture, but your carpet will be damp to the touch after cleaning. Dry time will vary, but typically your carpet should be dry within 24 hours. You can speed up dry time by opening your windows, turning on your air conditioning, or utilizing fans.

What is Scotchguard? I’ve had my carpets scotchguarded before and they still got dirty. Isn’t it a waste of money?

Genuine 3M Scotch Guard is designed to create a protective barrier between your carpet and future spills, stains and dirt. Nothing will prevent your carpet from ever getting dirty. However, applying Scotch Guard after having your carpets cleaned will keep spills and dirt up on the surface of the carpet, making clean up much easier. Scotch Guard works much like Teflon on a non-stick cooking pan: Teflon won’t keep your pan from getting dirty, but it sure makes it easier to clean up. Customers who choose Scotch Guard tend to have cleaner carpets than those who don’t.

What’s the best cleaner to use on carpet if I get a spill?

Because spills can differ in their chemical makeup, it is difficult to recommend a spot-cleaner and is nearly impossible to recommend a universal cleaner. Most store-bought cleaners leave a residue in the carpet, and as mentioned above, that can attract dirt. Some cleaners can also discolor carpet permanently. Professional cleaning is usually the safest solution.

Do you move furniture?

We ask that you please move any odds and ends and small furniture prior to the technicians arriving. We can move most large pieces of furniture, however, we can not move sectionals or mattresses.

What is your minimum charge? 

Our minimum charge is currently $80. This accounts for travel time, equipment, insurance requirements, and the two experienced carpet cleaning professionals being sent to your home. We do our best to be up front about any and all charges.

Will carpet cleaning get rid of fleas?

We can’t guarantee that having your carpets cleaned will eliminate all fleas in their various life stages. We recommend treating your carpet and upholstery with a designated flea product, such as Siphotrol. After doing so, having your carpet and upholstery cleaned would be a great second step to deep clean and freshen up your home.
